There are many options for tertiary education. Upon completion of Grade 12 or Standard 10, you have a choice to study further to attain vocational diplomas and certificates at TAFE (Technical and Further Education) or degrees at universities. Many international students enrol for English as a second language (ELICOS) courses before commencing with their studies.
The presence of international students in its tertiary education system varies between 5 to 15%. Every year there are approximately 400 000 international students enrolled; the vast majority of whom study in the Vocational Education and Training (VET) sector, followed the ELICOS sector.
